analogplanets asked: What Faulkner book would you recommend starting with? I've been interested in reading him for a few years, but I'm always daunted as to which of his novels to start with.
As I Lay Dying. The narrative is done by the entire Bundren family, and every time the narrator switches, it’s a new chapter, so it’s a bit easier to follow.
My favorite Faulkner novel is The Sound and the Fury, but it’s a pretty difficult read. The book changes narrators and time periods mid-paragraph constantly, making it pretty hard to follow unless you’re pay really close attention.
